Our company’s natural park

For those of us who work at our company headquarters in Linz, it is a joy to come to work each day and look out over our company’s very own natural park. This urban oasis is not just a thing of beauty for our employees, it is also a vital sanctuary for local plant- and wildlife. Here, the air is filled with the twitter of indigenous birds, the rustling of leaves, and the fragrance of wildflowers. It is the perfect counterbalance for a hard day’s work. Our company headquarters is located on a partially developed tract of land in the urban district of Linz-Kleinmünchen. The sprawling parkland adds much-needed biodiversity to the area. It is a win-win for the environment and for our company. Our employees can now enjoy their lunch break in the great outdoors. In the spring and summer, many even take their work outside or hold meetings on the benches in the nature park. The park is home to many berry bushes that are ripe for the picking.

The trees that shade the employee parking lot are surrounded by a meadow of wildflowers which protect the trees’ roots from overheating. The meadow is only mowed once each year. It is a vibrant biosphere and a winter sanctuary for many species of insects, butterflies, grasshoppers, spiders, and rodents.

In 2021, we installed three new wells. This enables us to water our park without drawing down drinking water from the city of Linz. The wells form a circular water supply, because the groundwater we draw from them flows directly back into the local water table.

Spending time in nature is a source of energy and rejuvenation for our entire team. And it’s also one of the best places to get the creative juices flowing or spark an idea. And so we will continue to grow our green paradise, offering a home for local plant- and wildlife and a sanctuary for our employees.
