Doing business responsibly

It’s been 60 years since our company was founded - that’s six decades of ideas, strategies and decisions that have led us to the present day. Being a socially responsible business has been in our DNA since the very beginning, and we have stayed true to that course ever since, following our inner compass, and aiming for sustainable growth.
Transparency is not just a buzzword to us: We work to build trust-based business relationships. Joining the Austrian CSR Guide was therefore a natural step for us. This list, which is published each year, is Austria’s most definitive source of information on corporate social responsibility. It outlines all the activities that companies like ours are doing to promote the interests of society, our employees, and the environment.

We are beginning to get recognition for our CSR work in the shape of awards, certifications, and quality seals that we have gained over the years for our efforts to drive sustainable development—and we look forward to earning more in future. These include certifications such as ISO 14001 (since1996), ISO 9001 (since 1996), ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001 (since 2006), our EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) certification, and the Austrian Workplace Health Promotion (BGF) seal of approval (2020–2022). We are also active members of respACT, one of the leading corporate platforms for CSR. Every three years, we publish our sustainability report, which details the ecological and social impact of our activities at the Silhouette Group.

That’s why we are members of the Austrian Climate Federation, participate in the annual regional GreenEvent in our home state of Upper Austria, take part in the UN’s World Environment Day, and have aligned our own targets with the UN Sustainable Development Goals."

Among the many social projects that are close to our heart are our company daycare center, Villa RoSiPez, and the construction of an eye health clinic in Burkina Faso. We have also taken great strides towards reducing the environmental impact of our headquarters by installing solar panels and transforming our company park into a natural sanctuary.

Furthermore, we believe that we need to invest in educating the next generation. Because the future is in their hands. We won the ineo Award in the category “Exemplary Employee Training” as a state-approved work-study company.

We never lose sight of the impact that all our decisions have on the world around us. And we are determined to serve as role models for other companies as well. That’s why we will continue to explore new possibilities in the future and to develop creative solutions for doing business more sustainably and more responsibly.
