German Design Award 2022

The renowned German Design Award (GDA) is celebrating its 10th anniversary next year. To mark the occasion, an elite panel of international judges came together on November 15 to announce the winners for the 2022 awards. The theme of this year’s GDA is “Thinking like a designer.” The awards shine a spotlight on designs that rise to the challenges of our time and bring innovative new approaches to product design.

SPECIAL MENTION FOR SILHOUETTE

For the fifth year in a row, a design achievement from Silhouette, received an award. The Silhouette Identity Collection has won a Special Mention in the category Excellent Product Design (Lifestyle and Fashion). Always eager to embrace new design ideas, Silhouette turned to the minimalism of modern architecture for inspiration when creating its award-winning Identity collection.

GERMAN DESIGN AWARD GOLD FOR NEUBAU

NEUBAU was awarded the German Design Award Gold 2022 in the category “Excellent Product Design Lifestyle & Fashion”. The winner of the award was the avantgarde design “Lotte & Hans” as part of the Special Edition 2021 “Perspectives of Pioneers”. In a sophisticated process “Lotte & Hans” is manufactured using highly modern 3D-technology as part of a non-waste method. The basis for this process is the brand’s own and entirely plant-based material natural3D which is obtained from GMO-free castor oil.
